It is through our community at EFBC that Jim’s legacy shall continue. As we support each other in good times and in bad, we live his teachings.

It is with the deepest sadness that we share news of the death of our founder, our mentor and our friend, Jim Liautaud. “Big Jim” to all who knew him passed on Friday, October 23rd, 2015 at the cabin he loved surrounded by those who loved him.

It is through our community at CFBC that Jim’s legacy shall continue. As we support each other in good times and in bad, we live his teachings. Through the EFBC, through all of our members, and through our admiration and love for him, he shall live on. Jim reminds us of this with a poem he wrote:

Life Eternal

After all the deals we’ve done are history gone,
there is only one that lingers on.
And that is how we lived our life,
with perhaps no better measure,
than keeping score on the lives we touched
and helped along the way.

And taking pause with that reflection,
when I view those few I touched,
it was only them that eventually became
the better part of who I was
and what I would become.

And when my body’s life shall end,
’tis I who will be a part of them.
For as they live, so shall I,
and as they pass, should my good deeds linger,
then with each my life resides
and that, my hope, would be forever

– Jim Liautaud, Sr 2004
